The Vessel: Write about a ship or other vehicle that can take you somewhere different from where you are now.

i've always wanted to ride on a train.
i've seen movies -- period pieces and Harry Potter and the random Christmas movie -- that involve a train. i guess i've also seen some action movies that involved trains, but that's not the kind of train i'm looking for. i'm talking about one of those steam era king shit, lol. not sure why i'm so casual with a writing prompt but i suppose this is just a forum to exercise my verbal delicacy.
anyway.
i have this romantic notion about trains, though i'm not entirely sure why. i suppose there are lots of movies i've loved since childhood that involve trains. i was also in love with the little engine that could when i was first learning to read.
but neither thing above is actually the story because this is supposed to be fiction rather than some sort of conversational essay or whatnot. i guess that's what i should write: essays.
i could use my library databases to pull journal articles and write a couple pages about my interpretation or something. you know, i had this course (that i actually didn't end up needing to graduate but that's another store) which required a thesis paper which challenged us to look at a social phenomena or trend or behavior and interpret it.
i wrote a paper about zombies and for the life of me i can't remember the thesis. which probably tells you just how great a thesis it was.
though maybe not because sometimes i'll surprise myself and come back to something i wrote in middle school and be astonished by the wisdom that i've always had but long ignored. i guess there might be something to that reincarnation deal because i definitely feel as if a lot of the people around me are preeeeeetttttty fresh.
too bad i can't get a multi-lifer discount. ain't those the breaks.
